"Do not consider the disaster on November 2nd, 1999 as God's punishment,
nor as the beginning of the end of the world.
Rather consider it as a grace of God reminding everyone of us
of loving each other, of coming to assist and help each other "
a priest, pastor of a poor parish in Central Vietnam

Report II

Follow up the project
of remodeling/building up classrooms for poor children in Central Vietnam
(reported by Bro. Lucien, responsible for the project)

== Translation into English - part of it, by Brother Valery

Saigon, February 21st, 2000

... I've been back to Hue - for the third time! - and occasionally, visiting certain villages like Lavang, Tri Buu, Thach Bich... inspecting and evaluating for the realization of the project of remodeling and/or building up classrooms for poor children accordingly to the purpose of your generous gift of love last Christmas.

Everything's in good shape, and hopefully fisnished by March 15. By the end of this month, Brother Visitor will visit with the FSC Brothers in Hue, and eventualy be able to inaugurate new classrooms.

... I've been traveling, by motorcycle more than 70km from Danang to Tam Ky, than more than 7km to Phu Ninh, and from Phu Ninh, by small boat to a region really wild with 5 villages whose population is about of 6 thousands, more than one thousand are Catholic. Only one priest takes care of them. There are only two (2) small elementary schools in 2 villages! The priest requested assistance and help to building up 3 more elementary schools , one for each village = of course regardless religion, race... I've asked Brother Victor to accompany the priest making a tour and inspecting the situation, since I've to get back to Saigon.

... Pray for each other.

Salut to everyone.

Brother Lucien
